An Unexpected Finish

It was an unexpected finish,

they actually won!

No one would’ve guessed it,

victory for the underdog!

Many were injured,

they had a lot less men,

But when they got the win,

I was the happiest person alive,

I didn’t really care,

coming into the game,

but when they kept the game close,

my eyes were glued to the TV,

I was in disbelief,

that they had a chance,

but as the game went on,

it became more real,

When they got a big lead,

I could finally relax,

and I knew this season,

was a big success!

The Worst Day Ever!

It has been two years now since I became the youngest president. Ever since I was elected, some people haven’t exactly been thrilled about this, especially my butlers and maids. I’ve gone through sixty-eight butlers and fifty-four maids, and some of them quit before they even started! No human wants to work for me anymore, although I’m not sure why, so I resolved the problem by getting animals to help me. Ever since Joe Bob constructed the animal translator in 2019, any animal can converse with a human. I’ve had animals helping me for a whole month now, a new record!

“Oh, here comes my least worst butler, some tiger guy. He’s more annoying than Annoying Orange, and I can smell him from a million miles away!” “I heard that!”, he exclaims. To be honest, I don’t really know any of their names, I just want them to get me what I want when I want it. I don’t know how he could be my least worst butler, but it’s not that hard to beat out an elephant, an armadillo, and a fish.

Oh no! My worst maid is coming this way, she’s a clumsy gorilla! She is hairier than Bigfoot, and she’s not that smart either. Guess what, one time she gave me a raspberry smoothie when I asked for a blue raspberry smoothie. “Hey gorilla maid. Have I ever told you how much I don’t appreciate you?”

At this point, I see the gorilla and tiger whispering about something. “We have decided to quit.”, they both say in unison. “But you can’t!” I say desperately.

After a few hours of trying to persuade them, I can’t talk them out of it, they won’t budge. If offering them a raise won’t work, I don’t know what will. With the animals departing, I won’t have anyone working for me, and I can’t be president!

After all that, the word gets out that no human or animal will work for me. I try to get some people that I knew back when I lived in St. Louis before I became president to work for me. They didn’t last an hour! I think the final straw was when I threw a knife at them for cutting my grilled cheese into fourths instead of halves, they knew this wasn’t where they desired to be. I sure miss the animals, always getting to complain about them being lousy employees just because I wanted to. Those were the good days, but they said they will never work for me ever again no matter how much money I offered. In the end, without anyone to work for me, I had to resign as president, and I learned that some people, even the president of the United States, don’t realize what they have until it’s gone.

5th Grade Reflections

5th Grade was a good year. I liked switching to all five teachers. I’m glad that I kept good grades all year and never failed a class. The teachers were fun, and they taught us a lot of new and interesting things. If there was one thing I could take back this year, it would be sliding into a base while playing kickball because I broke my arm doing that. Since that happened, I missed out on Field Day, the rest of the baseball season, and I couldn’t do P.E. for the rest of the year. Despite that, this was my favorite school year ever!

GS Project Reflection

My classmates and I worked on a project to show how to do a google search without getting other irrelevant topics. Honestly, I didn’t except the ratings to be that good. I didn’t get a lot of time to work on it because I was absent a few times. We still did pretty good.

Thatagirl

In the story “Thatagirl”, a Minor League team called the Chattanooga Lookouts faces a Major League team with the name of the New York Yankees. In this time period, the Yankees had some of the greatest players of all time with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. The Lookouts had just signed a female pitcher named Jackie Mitchell. A young girl named Hazel lived in a house near the stadium that the game was being played in. She always wanted to play baseball with Timmy and some of the other neighborhood boys, but they wouldn’t let her play because of her gender. Somehow, she gets tickets to the game beside Timmy. They make a bet that if Jackie Mitchell strikes out Babe Ruth, Hazel could play baseball with all the boys. After four pitches, Babe strikes out, and Hazel finally got to play with the boys. Since this was in 1931, they didn’t give her a chance to show her athletic ability until she won a bet. If the story took place in 2015, she probably could’ve played with them without winning something. In this story, one of the things you need to learn is to never judge a book by its cover!

2014/2015 Writing

One of my favorite memories from 2014 was when I received the defensive MVP award for the 5th grade Lil’necks football team. It was special because my friend, Landon, was awarded with the offensive MVP award. They were given to us at our Lil’necks end of the year party. It was at the field beside the church I attend.

Now, my goal for 2015 is to be on the A honor roll for the third year in a row. In primary school, the grading system was different, so I’m not sure how I did. We’re half way through the school year, and so far I’m achieving my goal. I’m really looking forward to the end of May because that is when I find out how I did. But for now, I just need to work as hard as I can!
